About the Work
In a world with so many opportunities to connect, it feels as if we are more disconnected than ever.
The concept of 6 Degrees of Separation suggests everyone on earth is connected by just 6 or fewer social steps. But it goes beyond mathematics and social networks - its a reminder of how interconnected humanity really is. It speaks to the potential for collaboration, understanding and shared experience across barriers like culture, race, status or geography.
This artwork aims to prove that concept - A master work split into 6 Collectible tiles, each unique yet inherently connected. Each tile holds its own significance, but together they form a harmonious image - a metaphor for how we, as individuals, are part of something greater.
Tile Descriptions
Point of Origin: Every journey begins with a single moment, a meeting, a glance, a shared experience. It’s the foundation, the first degree, where a seed of connection is planted. This tile represents that genesis, the point where possibilities are born.
Cusp of Connection: Two rounded cusps come together to form a heart, representing the second degree—an emotional or meaningful bond that unites two individuals.
Three's Company: Connections are strengthened when it grows beyond two. Communities form, friendships expand. The third degree is about synergy—when individuals come together to create something larger than themselves.
Crossroads of Creation: Life is not linear, nor are the paths we walk. The fourth degree represents the beautiful chaos of human experience and diverse perspectives, where our journeys intersect with others in unexpected ways and innovation takes place.
Linked by Stars: The fifth degree is where the threads of connection form constellations. This is the realm of mentorship, collaboration across great divides, and relationships that inspire us to aim higher. Like stars in the night sky, these connections shine, guiding us, showing us what’s possible.
